So you've had a look through my site, like the look of what I do, but you need to know a little more before you decide to hire me?
Well, you've come to the right place, if you don't find the answer you are looking for here, please don't hesitate to get in contact and we can have a more in depth discussion about your queries!

01
What artwork can I hire you to produce?
As I mentioned on the homepage I am predominantly a hand lettering artist specialising in chalkboard art and design. But I do also have experience with wedding stationary, table numbers, and seating charts, illustrations, graphics, murals, so if you have a job that you think my style would suit, contact me and we can discuss your ideas in more detail.
02
How much do you charge?
What I charge for an artwork varies greatly depending on factors like size, detail, materials, travel etc., and each piece I produce is based on a discussion beforehand with the client. Having said this my prices are very reasonable for the quality of work I produce, and if you would like to get in touch with me about your ideas, I can provide you with a free no-obligation quote.
03
Can you tell me more about your chalkboard art?
I can either work on boards supplied by the client or can produce the boards for you, which would be included in your quote. An extra charge would apply if the board supplied by the client is not properly prepped for me to begin work on.
I can supply artwork that is either temporary or permanent.
I can produce artwork in black and white, and in colour, but please mention your preference and colour scheme during the consultation.
All my work is original, so please don't ask me to recreate someone else's work. If you have any images you would like to provide as design inspiration for layout and look please feel free to include them during the email process.
Any logo's, layout or text you require will need to be sent to me during the consultation. It is your responsibility to check for any typing errors or spelling mistakes, as I will include any text as it is written by you, and there will be a few opportunities for you to check over the final design before I start chalking. There will be an extra charge if I am required to fix any errors made through no fault of my own after this point. If however, the mistake is mine, I will fix the problem free of charge.
Please also note that chalkboard art is completed by hand, and any logos, art, or text will have a hand drawn aesthetic, and colour matching to logos may not be exact. If you require exact precision, I would suggest that printing may be more suitable for your needs.
After we have discussed your needs and I have supplied a quote. I will draw up a sketch to show design and layout. If you would like to proceed I will require a 50% deposit. There will be an opportunity for you to make suggestions for changes. A final design will then be drawn up for your approval.
As the consultation process is designed to best work out your needs, the initial design should be fairly close to what you require. If the design is changed too drastically before the final design is produced then an extra charge may be added to your quote.
After I have produced your artwork, I will send you a high-quality photo for you to inspect before pick-up. This is your opportunity to look out for any errors. Once you have confirmed the artwork is correct, any changes would be subject to an extra charge.
Pickup and delivery can be negotiated but will be subject to an extra cost.

How long will it take?
Again, this will all depend on the size, detail, materials, travel etc., if you have a deadline in mind please mention it in the initial consultation and I can try my best to work to it. I would usually recommend leaving on average 2-3 weeks before your event or deadline for me to complete the work after consultation, but my other commissions can be a factor as well, so try to give me as much time as you can!

Who owns the Copyright?
My original designs remain the property of Lou Cooper Designs. By commissioning me you are agreeing not to try and reproduce my work digitally or manually in any way, and accept that each work I produce will include a small 'Lou Cooper Designs' logo unless discussed otherwise. Please feel free to take pictures of my designs at your event or premises, and share them however you wish, as long as you credit them accordingly. By commissioning me, you are also giving me permission to use images of your works however I see fit, for example on my website or on other promotional materials.
